Did You Know?

Did you know that guinea pigs don't have fur? Nope they actually have hair just like us. What's the difference between fur and hair anyway? Good question.

Genetically there is no difference. Some claim that fur grows to a set length but hair will constantly grow. If that's the case we have fur for eyebrows and all over most of our body, and hair on our heads. But then again... Rascal and Alvin's hair doesn't grow continuously. But a long hair breed would need to be trimmed constantly.

Other people say that we just decided that we wanted to call it hair for some animals and fur for others. I think that fur and hair feel different. When I pet a cat it feels more fluffy than when I pet Rascal or my boyfriend.
