Rascal(front) is a Calico Self-Crested Guinea. He is the energetic one. He loves to eat. He'll eat anything from lettuce, strawberries, grapes, his cage, fingernails. But he loves cantaloupe and watermelon the most. But I try not to give him watermelon...it makes it look like he's wearing lipstick. (Don't tell Alvin...but Rascal is my favorite of all my children...Shhhh!)
Alvin(back) is a brown/gray agouti Abyssinian. And he has a natural Mohawk! I got Alvin about a month after Rascal and he is still a little shy. But he has been opening up to us and will now take food from our hands instead of stealing Rascals. (And even though Rascal is my favorite, I still think Alvin is the cutest)
They are both only about 7-8 months old and will get a little bigger. They purr when they get their back scratched. When they get excited, they popcorn. Popcorning is when a guinea pig jumps up in down in circles and squeaks with enjoyment. (I thought Rascal might have been 'special' when he first started doing it.) It's very entertaining to watch, I'll be sure to post a video of this later. They know when they hear the rustling of bags that they're about to get fed. When Rascal hears this he runs to the door of his cage. Once I open the door he will lean as far out of the cage as possible until I give him food. I let them run around on my bed and they know to jump in the cage to go potty.
I also have 5 other children that will be featured in my blog. I have 3 mice: Macy, Minnie, and Missie. I have a dwarf hamster named Skittles. And me and my boyfriend have a ferret named Swiffer.
